I get a lot of requests from people asking me to read their manuscripts or help them get published. I would love to help, but it's not something I really do. I'm not an agent or a publisher or anything, so even if I could find the time to read and critique other people's manuscripts, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to offer much in the way of assistance.
I can, however, recommend an excellent guide titled How to Write and Sell Your First Nonfiction Book by Oscar Collier and Frances Spatz Leighton. This was the one I used when I was starting out -- and it worked very well. The section on preparing a book proposal was particularly helpful.
